Great Lakes Sediment and Nutrient Reduction Program Grant from the Great Lakes Commission

The Genesee River Coalition received a $250,000 grant in late 2019 from the Great Lakes Commission to implement the Genesee River Watershed Streambank Erosion Remediation Project in three participating districts: Allegany, Monroe, and Genesee. The project will repair highly eroding tributaries to the Genesee River in areas impacted by invasive species and poor agricultural management. The project will get underway in 2020 and is expected to be completed by 2022.
