Agricultural Plastic Container Recycling
The Monroe County SWCD works in conjunction with Ag Plastic Solutions LLC, and the Ag Container Recycling Council to participate in the annual Agricultural Plastics Recycling Program.
What qualifies to be recycled?
Ag Plastics Solutions LLC accepts the following materials: bale wrap, plastic twine, silage bags/bunker covers (black and white only), greenhouse covers, drip tape, flats, trays, pots, stretch film (clear only), cardboard, plastic pallets, dairy chemicals and detergents, hay preservative buckets/barrels, and some poly lumber scraps. At this time they do not accept pesticides, mulch film, oil drums/buckets, and oxygen barrier films. All containers MUST be clean, empty, pressure rinsed or triple rinsed, and dry. All materials MUST be relatively clean, empty, pressure rinsed or triple rinsed and dry. Any material that is not clean may be returned to the owner.
How do I participate?
You must call the District ahead of time to pre-register and to let us know the approximate amount of containers you will have for recycling. The next collection will be sometime in 2025. Exact dates and locations are to be decided and will be based on the anticipated amount collected. For more information or to pre-register contact our office.
